about Joy
I wasn't meant to just survive, I was meant to steward.
“Everything that I needed was already in my backyard. I just had to stop long enough to see it.”
– Joy
There was a time when I thought success meant working harder, taking every job, and forcing the earth into submission. I sprayed weeds with chemicals, pushed through pain, and ignored the quiet voice inside me. Then life shattered the illusion: cancer, a semi-truck accident, and the near loss of everything — including my life.
In that emptiness, I found something greater. Out in the garden, among the plants, I felt my ancestors. I felt creation itself whispering that I wasn’t meant to just survive — I was meant to steward. To nurture. To listen.
What began as gardening became landscaping, and what began as landscaping became something deeper: a sacred trust. Every design, every herbal remedy, every seed in the soil is no longer “mine.” It belongs to something higher, something meant to last beyond me.
I no longer build gardens just to look pretty. I build them as living legacies. My hope is that what I create invites others back to their roots — to remember that nature heals, family matters, and everything we do should honor the generations that came before us and the ones who will come after.
Who I'm here for
People who know there’s another way. People who’ve looked at their backyard and wondered what it’s really offering them. People ready to stop outsourcing their health, their food, and their peace of mind.

After my husband passed away, I was so depressed that I didn’t go in my backyard for 3 years. I finally made a call to Joy because my flowerbeds were so overgrown. I was embarrassed to take her back there, but when we walked through the gate she saw my beds as clearly as the day was new. She not only cleaned everything up, she had me go buy 5 flats of annual flowers like I used to do. We spent the day together potting them all up. She placed all of my pots in my beds just perfect. Joy comes to my house every month and keeps all of my roses pruned and fed, deadheads all my flowers, picks my strawberries for me. She’s my angel. There is nothing she wouldn’t do to make me smile.
"I may not have my husband anymore, but I have Joy in my life. Literally."

Found Joy searching for someone to help me set up irrigation for my 17 raised garden beds. What used to take me two hours to water by hand I never have to touch again. Here comes Joy with a perfectly laid out custom watering system designed for my garden — a map of my layout and instructions so I could do it myself. I was able to hook up from start to finish and it works flawlessly. Now I just get to sit back and let it water itself.
"If you're looking for the DIY route, I definitely recommend Joy."
